LOSP Treatment
LOSP or Light Organic Solvent Preservative is used to treat plantation grown softwoods. There are LOSP treatments to meet various hazard levels. Our LOSP products are treated with PROTIM™ H3.
Treatment to the H3 hazard level provides protection against termite, fungal decay and is water repellant. H3 treated products are suited to above ground, outdoor applications such as verandahs, fretwork and balustrade.
To ensure complete surface coverage and penetration the treatment process is applied after manufacture of the products. For example standard verandah posts would be turned prior to the preservation process.
Laminated pine timber is first dried within a sealed treatment container using vacuum extraction. It is then treated using a pressurised system that allows the solvent containing pesticide, fungicide and a wax resin to fully penetrate the product. Resulting in a lasting protection.
PROTIM™ H3 products have a 25 year limited warranty For further product, safety and installation information see the PROTIM™ H3 product brochure, material safety data sheet and recommended painting instructions for LOSP & exterior timbers
