Install Centre Fixed Handle - Concealed Fitting
These instructions are suited to any single sided handle with a centre concealed fitting including:
- Most round handles
- Enkel handles
Fittings
Joinery & door handles are supplied with all fittings required for fixing the handles to the door. Included in this set are:
- 1 x threaded rod
- 1 x metal disk
- 4 x screws
Safety
- Always follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions when using power tools and adhesives
- Wear safety glasses throughout the installation
Step 1: Set up
You will need:
- 8-12mm drill depending upon the size of the threaded rod
- Phillips head screw driver and/or Allen key (for larger handles)
- Safety glasses
- Handle and fittings
Step 2: Prepare the door
a) Locate and mark the position for the handle on the door
b) Drill a shallow hole approx 10-15mm deep at the marked location (this is to allow a clearance for the threaded rod when fully wound in during step 4).
c) Fix the metal disk to the door using the 4 screws & screw driver. Aligning the centre hole with the drilled hole in the door.
Step 3: Prepare the handle fitting
Gently wind the threaded rod into the rear of the handle as shown in the 3rd image below. Threaded rods of larger handles may have and Allen key hex to assist with tightening.
Step 4: Install
Insert the other end of the threaded rod into the centre hole of the metal disk mounted on the door. Wind the handle on until secure (see image 4 below).
